Firstly, why is “The Fence” not available on physical media? Not everyone’s into the whole streaming thing. Now I’ve got that of my chest, I will continue. Up until last night, I knew absolutely nothing about the film, I simply came across it and decided, reluctantly, to give it a go. The brief synopsis didn’t exactly overwhelm me, so I half expected to get bored after five minutes and give up. Amazingly, right from the start, I was hooked and watched every second of it, even the post end credits scene. What a fantastic film! I left school in 1980, so for me, the 80’s were in many ways more important to me than the 70’s ever were. This film really took me back to 1983. The attention to detail was incredible, from the clothes and tech down to the music. Good to see that you used tracks that are maybe less well known than others from the period. The cast was brilliant, despite none of them being very well known, but David Perkins in particular was exceptional, followed by Eugene Simon. I’m going to keep my eyes on William Stone because he’s already clearly a very talented director, who I hope will have a great career. And I loved the original short of “The Fence” as well. Watched that last night after becoming aware of it’s existence on line. Perkins looks so young in it and Stone is a pretty good actor himself.

I lived it, I loved it, and I want some more.

The soundtrack is incredible! The authentic bikes, clothing, and attitudes from early 80s Britain make this film feel so real and beautiful. It's fantastically fun and truly captivating.
